LPI Joists are engineered to start straighter and stay straighter. Longer and stronger than traditional solid sawn lumber joists, they have more load carrying capacity. Louisiana-Pacific starts with LVL flanges made of ultra-sonically-graded veneer bonded together with exterior adhesive for more load carrying capacity. The webs are made from stable, strong oriented strand board for superior strength and consistent performance. Louisiana Pacific also offers an economical solid sawn flange joist (LPI20plus) which meets most design requirements.

LPI Joists are very uniform. They are manufactured without camber, so there's no chance of crown down or upside-down installation. And they resist shrinking, twisting, warping, and splitting for squeak resistant floors and quality roofs and ceilings. In addition to standard applications, LPI Joists can be used for cantilevered joists in balconies, cathedral ceilings, high pitch roof framing, and expanding conventionally framed construction.

SIX SERIES AVAILABLE
Louisiana-Pacific offers six series of LPI Joists to meet every residential and light commercial construction need. All feature strong, stable oriented strand board webs. The 26, 30, 36, and 56 series are made with Gang-Lam LVL flanges, the 20 series has visually graded spruce-pine-fir flanges, and 32 series has flanges constructed from strong 2100 Fb 1.8e MSR, kiln-dried solid sawn lumber stock.

GANG-LAM LVL: BETTER THAN TRADITIONAL SAWN LUMBER
Gang-lam laminated veneer lumber is an excellent choice for beams, headers, or other primary load carrying members. It gives you more design freedom because it's manufactured to be thicker, wider, and longer than solid sawn beams. Using ultrasonic veneer grading and selection, they have removed many of the flaws found in wood. Problems like twisting, splitting and checking are drastically reduced so there's little waste on the job site. Gang-Lam LVL delivers consistent, reliable performances time after time.
